You Can Study Engineering With Your Grade 9 Certificate At False Bay TVET College



The training landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is on the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product isn't the only successful means of learning. Their NCV programmes are designed for college students who want to start their journey towards a fulfilling profession early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Office for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, regarding their different courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are presented at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-year period.

Mechanical Engineering
Fitting and Turning
Welding
Motor Mechanics

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These classes start out at NCV level 2 and the bare minimum requirement would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

Once the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they might then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade eleven and NCV Level four is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a Nationwide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade nine is on NQF level website 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV amount 2 and that is equivalent to an NQF level two.

On which kind of scholars are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that common education is just not necessarily the sole strategy for getting to be an artisan or getting competent so if a student knows from an early age what their passions are, the NCV programme is in fact completely suited to that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
